Enabling Universal Group Membership Caching

Enabling Universal Group Membership Caching

This topic explains how to use the Active Directory module for Windows PowerShell to enable universal group membership caching.

Example

The following example demonstrates how to enable universal group membership caching on the Default-First-Site-Name site of the Fabrikam.com domain:
Set-ADObject "CN=NTDS Site Settings,CN=Default-First-Site-Name,CN=Sites,CN=Configuration,DC=Fabrikam,DC=COM" –Replace @{options='32'}

Additional information

You can use the following parameters when you set many of the common values of objects in Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS):
  • Description
  • DisplayName
  • ProtectedFromAccidentalDeletion
For a full explanation of the parameters that you can pass to Set-ADObject, at the Active Directory module command prompt, type Get-Help Set-ADObject –detailed, and then press ENTER.
